There are lots of classes to choose in Baldur's Gate 3, but Bard has always been something else entirely. More than just a support pick, Bards in BG3 carry some of the richest dialogue options in the game — and the three colleges carve out wildly different identities. College of Lore, College of Valor, College of Swords: each one shapes how you move through the world, how NPCs respond to you, and what kind of story you actually get to tell. And when you dig into how Bards fit into the Forgotten Realms beyond BG3, things get even more interesting. There's a lot here that Larian got right — and a few things worth questioning.
