Will we find a decent sandwich among those sold by supermarkets and discount stores? Let's try raising the bar by looking at two high-end supermarkets in a good neighborhood of Rome, namely Colli Portuensi, Monteverde. Unfortunately, it doesn't bode well because the neighborhood residents evidently aren't used to buying certain products, so the supermarket branches don't order them from the catalog. Limited selection, mediocre sandwiches, but we're saved by a Todis, also in Colli Portuensi. As a discount store, it holds up very well in terms of product selection, but less so, as expected, in terms of the quality of its sandwiches.
