Jacob Collier plays Misty for Quincy Jones, Newport Jazz '25
My favourite moment from this show.
Misty was first performed at Newport Jazz seventy years ago in 1955 by Erroll Garner, the year after he composed it. Three years later, Quincy arranged it for Sarah Vaughan and the rest is history. It’s one of the first songs I ever performed for Q, back when I was still a teenager. It felt good to bring it home to Newport in his honour.
