How to Clean Pond Water (Part 3)
This pond has been in existence for about 10 years. The pond bottom is natural, without waterproofing. Every year, the pond "blooms," and the water quality leaves much to be desired. It was decided to add basins for plant regeneration zones to one side of the pond to allow water to pass through the root systems of aquatic plants and be purified. I'm reporting on the progress of the reconstruction. This is part three.

The pond is approximately 60 meters long and about 20 meters wide. The pond will be purified by streams in the bioplateau, currently located on one side of the pond. If they are successful, then we will probably not install streams on the other side of the pond. The streams will be planted with aquatic plants such as reeds, iris, sedge, rush, and water lily. The pond will be swimmable. The regeneration zone will be waterproofed with a FIRESTONE butyl rubber membrane for ponds.
This rubber has a service life of over 50 years.

This pond is filtered, as we usually do, by the roots of aquatic plants. The circulation of the bioplateau through the streams will maintain a biological balance in the pond and prevent "blooming." I've already built over 80 ponds using this system, and I can confidently say that this "living" pond filtration works.
