Review: Deepin OS 15.7 + SLOW MIRRORS : SOLVED
Hello Everyone! In this video, we will check out Deepin OS latest release i.e version 15.7 . Here on XPSTECH, we are a big fan of this beautiful Chinese Linux Distro that has been pushing the bar in terms of development of linux desktop Operating system. However, two quick back-to-back updates released within 10 days of the original release, marred the otherwise an important release.
This release has been mainly focused on improving the overall stability and improvement of the distro .
In this video , following new features are covered :
1) New Version numbering system explained

3) New Power saving mode
4) Full Disk Install - a New option
5) Improved Memory consumption
This video also shows how to solve the slow mirror issue of deepin os by finding the fastest mirror using netselect tool :
The commands I used in the videos :
1) Grep Command to get all URL with string “mirror” in it :
**** Check the comment sectionn ***
2) Sed command to enclose url in single quote ‘ and to truncate new line and replace it with blank space :
sed -e "s/^.*$/'&'/g" | tr '\n ' ' '
3) Netselect command ( append all commands) :
netselect -vv -t 50 ‘all urls’
