Underpainting (02/01/2020)
Hey everyone! Today's video will concentrate on the Underpainting! This particular underpainting is done with thinned down Raw Umber. I'm using Liquin (alkyd medium) as my medium, just to make sure that my paint will be perfectly dry the next day. You can also try, if you want, doing your underpainting with acrylics, inks or any other water based medium that will not be disturbed when oil based paint is laid on top :)
It's a simple step, that shouldn't really take too long, but it's a perfect opportunity to concentrate on Values!!! Yesterday was about design, composition and structure and today we build upon that foundation to emphasize values. Take your time if you need to! Just take one, simple, solid step at a time.
