Henning has been building electronics since his childhood days and after receiving a Diploma and a PhD in information technology from the University of Bremen, he is now working as hardware development engineer in the industry. He has received his novice and full amateur radio licenses after attending online-only courses in 2021 and 2022, respectively, and after designing and building SDR receivers for several years, he has now extended his activities to self-built SDR transmitters.
The well-known ADALM-PLUTO by Analog Devices is an affordable SDR that is not only capable of full-duplex operation, but can also be modified to allow 2x2 MIMO operation, i.e., enable 2 Rx and Tx paths each. This talk will present the required hardware modifications and the interfacing in GNU Radio and will sketch the rough concept of a 13cm Doppler radar based on this platform as an example.
