Until 145 PM PDT.
At 1239 PM PDT, a severe wind storm was located over the ocean
providing strong southerly wind gusts over the Monterey Peninsula.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR the Monterey Peninsula.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 80 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated and observations at Monterey Regional
Airport of 59 mph. These winds are expected to intensify
down to the surface over the next hour.
IMPACT...Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and
vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are
likely.
Locations impacted include...
Seaside, Monterey, Marina, Pacific Grove, Carmel-By-The-Sea,
Castroville, Del Monte Forest, Prunedale, Del Rey Oaks and Sand
City.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. This storm is producing
