After playing through the current story and playing through many different events, I have a decent understanding of the characters of this game. The main goal is to of course play the characters you want but there are also characters who would provide more value to your account than others based on utility or even just strength. There are characters who have very limited uses and some who are used in many different teams. There are also characters who are just extremely strong with easy teams to make.
In the end, this is just a game so the most important thing is to pull for the character who you want the most.
