Kubuntu 19.10, codenamed "Eoan Ermine," was released in October 2019 as part of the Ubuntu family of Linux distributions. It is an official Ubuntu flavor that features the KDE Plasma desktop environment as its default graphical user interface. Kubuntu 19.10 shipped with KDE Plasma 5 as the default desktop environment. KDE Plasma 5 offers a modern, intuitive, and highly customizable user interface. It includes features such as desktop widgets, a dynamic panel, powerful system settings, and desktop effects. Kubuntu 19.10 includes a variety of pre-installed applications for common tasks, such as the LibreOffice suite for office productivity, the Firefox web browser for internet browsing, and various multimedia applications for music and video playback. KDE applications such as Dolphin file manager, Okular document viewer, and Gwenview image viewer are included by default. Kubuntu 19.10 has similar system requirements to other modern Linux distributions. It can run on a wide range of hardware configurations, including desktops, laptops, and servers, with support for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. Kubuntu 19.10 represents a snapshot of ongoing development within the KDE and Ubuntu communities.
