When the Moon Was Born
Long ago, in the chaotic early days of the solar system, a Mars-sized planet named Theia was on a dangerous path. It wasn’t supposed to collide with Earth—but then came Jupiter. With its immense gravity, Jupiter subtly disturbed Theia’s orbit, pulling it closer to Earth over time.
Eventually, Theia and Earth collided in a catastrophic impact. The explosion was so massive that a huge chunk of Earth and Theia was blasted into space. These fiery fragments slowly came together, cooled down, and began to orbit Earth.
That’s how our Moon was born—a child of cosmic chaos, shaped by the might of Jupiter and the fury of a planetary collision.
