Moldova – A Short History
The history of Moldova can be traced back to the Principality of Moldavia. Later it became part of Greater Romania and later transformed into the Bessarabian Soviet Socialist Republic within the Soviet Union. The dissolution of the Soviet Union made Moldova an independent country named the Republic of Moldova. Yet, problems arose. One region named Transnistria seceded from Moldova.
