Merlin - Merlin and Arthur - So Cold [Magic Reveal]
Merlin decides its the right time to show Arthur he has magic, but Arthur doesn't react well. He is hurt and feels betrayed and even though Merlins life is never at risk for Arthur is a better man than his father, something worse happens, their friendship breaks and as hard as Merlin tries, he cannot change Arthurs mind. Merlin remembers when Arthur called him brave and wants to find this Arthur again (I wanted that to look like Merlin wrote down a diary of sorts and was reading it to bring back a memory) It is only when Merlin decides to leave Camelot, that Arthur realises how much his friend has done for him, that he cannot live without him and so Arthur goes after Merlin but Merlin is not ready to forgive him for he has been hurt too. But they are two sides of the same coin and cannot be without each other because it is too hard and so cold.
I wanted to make it very dark deliberately because I didn't want there to seem any hope for their friendship to be fixed, that everything they had was destroyed so I wanted the lack of colour to reflect that (I know some scenes are a little too dark though!) But I wanted to leave some hope at the end, that Merlin and Arthur would find each other and each would be forgiven. Music is 'So Cold' By Ben Cocks

Lancelot: Will you ever tell Arthur?
Merlin: I would like him to know. To see, just once.
Merlin: I'm your friend!
Arthur: No more to be said
Arthur: It is pure evil. I will never lose sight of that again.
Arthur: A servant whos extremely brave and incredibly loyal to be honest
Agravaine: We both knew he was hiding something
Arthur: Such trust in him
Arthur: All this time I was blind
Merlin: I'm going be at your side, like I always am... protecting you
Merlin: I will take your place
Arthur: Merlins gone?
Merlin: I always thought if things had have been different we'd have been good friends
Arthur: Yeah
Arthur: Merlin...
Arthur: I cared about these people, I don't understand, what have I done wrong, why do they hate me?
Merlin: No, they don't hate you...
Merlin: Where are you?
Hunith: You belong at Arthurs side. I've seen how much he needs you, how much you need him.
