During the battle for the village of Krynki in the Kherson region, 788 Ukrainian servicemen went missing, and another 262 were rescued and buried.
Russian troops captured the village at the beginning of the war. In 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to establish a bridgehead there.
Ukrainian marines call Krynki a "one-way road" and claim that the Russians do not take prisoners there.
