[LESSON 10: How to remove unwanted small and large objects from a photo, using the Spot Healing Brush and other quick techniques]
In this tutorial, we'll learn how to:
Remove small objects with the Spot Healing Brush tool
Remove people or large objects from a photo using the Content-Aware Fill command.
📌 Remove small objects or erase people from photos with the Spot Healing Brush (for small touch-ups: removing spots on photos, moles on skin, dust specks, and the like, use the Spot Healing Brush)
▪️ In the Layers panel, select the layer containing the spots or small objects you want to remove.
▪️ In the Tools panel, select the Spot Healing Brush tool.
▪️ In the options bar, adjust the size and hardness of the Spot Healing Brush tool to adjust the element you're trying to remove.
▪️ Click on a spot or drag the mouse over an object you want to remove.
📌 Remove people or large objects with the Content-Aware Fill option (this technique is used to erase people from photos or other large unwanted objects)
▪️ In the Layers panel, select the layer containing a large object or person you want to remove.
▪️ Use a selection tool to select the object. Be sure to include a small portion of the background around the entire perimeter of the object in the selection.
▪️ From the menu bar, select Edit ➜ Fill.
▪️ In the Fill dialog box, select Content-Aware from the Contents menu and click OK. Your selection will be filled with content similar to the background, while the unwanted elements will disappear.
