Civil Tools : Excel 2 CAD – Excel to CAD redefined
Hello Everybody, Welcome to the video tutorial about converting data in Excel as AutoCAD Table.
One of the features of CAD packages which still do not fulfil user requirements is a table. There are many software’s available to convert excel data into AutoCAD, some free and some commercial. In recent version of cad package, there is the direct table command which can import data directly from CSV files and populate table. In spite of all these, people are looking for solution related to converting data from EXCEL to CAD. There are a variety of solutions to the same problem and we have added a new way to import Excel data into AutoCAD. This is particularly helpful when similar table is being created In CAD. Using Ms Excel to CAD you can convert Excel data into AUTO CAD Drawing. One of the unique feature of this package offer is that you can define most of the properties of the table entities like layer Font etc.
Open ESurvey Civil tools and create a new file and select Excel2CAD from options. Create one project called sample. Select Ms Excel to cad from the main menu. Select “Main Drawing” tree item, and click on the Tables Icon on the tool bar. Name the Table as “Point Data”.
In this example, you will convert total station data which will normally have Serial Number, Easting, Northing, Elevation & remark. That is, you have 5 columns in sample data. Let us mention 5 as the value in Number of Columsn text box and save it.
You can assign different styles to header and details.
You can also specify different height to header and details.
After saving “Point Data” will be a sub item under Tables. You can add any number of tables in similar fashion. Select “Point Data” Sub item to see a preview of the table. Now select table properties from ribbon items. You can change the caption, column width and text justification for each column as required.
You can select import Excel and import the excel data by selecting sample file. Once we import the data, drawing will be ready, and you can preview the same. This drawing can be exported to CAD Package like AutoCAD, ZWCAD and BricsCAD.
