Algorithm for determining the auxiliary verb for the Perfect:
1. Ask a question from the verb "whom? what?"
sehen — whom? what? + (100% used with haben)
gehen — whom? what? - (80% used with sein)
2. Does the verb indicate any movement or change of state?
gehen + (go — movement = 100% used with sein)
schlafen - (sleep — does not indicate either change or movement. Will be used with haben)
