Why Was NASA's Gemini Program Called Gemini?
How do you name a space program? Pick something poetic and fitting, and sometimes more details will fall into place. NASA's Gemini program was named after the constellation because the twin stars evokes the idea of two astronauts. But if you believe in astrology, there's even more poetry to the name.
