Rheinberg was born in 1878 in St. Petersburg in the family of a nobleman. He was fond of singing, music and photography.
After graduating from the St. Petersburg Institute of Railway Engineers he worked on the construction of roads in Arkhangelsk,
Voronezh, Novgorod, and later served in the Ministry of Railways.
