In this video, we delve deep into the recent issue that many SEOs, bloggers, and webmasters have encountered: the "Hostload exceeded" error on Google Search Console. We have received numerous queries from the community through comments, emails, and social media messages about this issue.
To provide clarity, we studied 150 websites affected by this error and analyzed an additional 400 websites that have not encountered this problem. We offer insights into where and how the error manifests and the traditional reasons cited for its occurrence. Interestingly, some websites are facing this error even when they don't fit the common criteria.
As of the video's release, Google hasn't given any official statement about the error. We discuss the Googlebot system and its limited resources, emphasizing that the bot doesn't create a separate copy for each website. We touch on the mechanism of how URLs are crawled, including an "emergency line" provided by Google for urgent indexing.
A key takeaway from our findings is that excessive use of the URL inspection tool or the request indexing button might be contributing to the error for newer websites or those excessively leveraging these features. However, the video assures viewers that the error doesn't seem to affect a website's indexed status or its traffic.
For more detailed information on Google's crawling and indexing, we provide a link to the official Google Developers documentation and encourage understanding the URL inspection tool.
