Beethoven: The Grand Festival 2020
in collaboration with The Grand Signature Piano
Join us as we celebrate the music of Ludwig van Beethoven on his 250th anniversary as well as other composers in this year's festival, featuring artists from all over the world. We at Indonesia International Piano Competition believes in the power of music to inspire humanity in people and build communities.
Victoria Audrey Sarasvathi was born on September 17th, 1997 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Victoria is currently pursuing her Post Graduate (Konzertexamen) with Prof. Arie Vardi at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover. She received her first musical education at the age of 3, starting with her mother and later at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music with Iswargia R. Sudarno. In 2010 she entered the young talent programme “Institut zur Früh-Förderung musikalisch Hochbegabter” at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover under the guidance of Prof. Roland Krüger. At the age of 15 she started her Bachelor and graduated in July 2017 with the highest points, after which she continued her studies with Prof. Arie Vardi during her Master Studies.
After giving her debut recitals age 9 in Jakarta and Bandung Victoria performed in Germany, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Korea and China during festivals such as: Cognito Concert Series in TriBühne Norderstedt, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Festival Junger Meister Lindau, The Grand Festival Jakarta and with Orchestras such as Göttinger Symphonie Orchester and Musica Assoluta Orchestra with which she premiered piece composed by German Composer Marcus Aydintan “Fremder Weg”.
In 2008, she received an invitation from Prof. Dan Zhao Yi to perform in the “International Children Exchange Concert” and in the auditorium at Shenzhen Art School, China. She also performed in front of the former President of Poland, H.E. Lech Walesa during celebrations of Polish Independence Day in Jakarta and during ChildAid fundraising concert in Singapore. In 2014 Victoria was invited to play at the Opening Ceremony of “Jugend Musiziert North and East Europe” in Koncerthuset Copenhagen.
Victoria has won numerous Prizes at International Piano Competitions, such as:
2nd Prize at Aarhus International Piano Competition in Aarhus, Denmark, 1st Prize and Special Prizes at Jugend Musiziert, Germany, 1st Prize and Special Prizes at Schumann Piano Competition for young Pianist in Zwickau, Germany, 2nd Prize at Young Pianist of the North (no first prize was awarded), New Castle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, 3rd Prize at Steinway Piano Competition, Germany, 1st Prizes at “Asia International Piano Academy with Piano Competition” at Cheonan, Korea, 1st Prizes at “ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition” at Kuala Lumpur, 2nd Prize at “International Piano Competition for Young Musicians” at Enschede, the Netherlands, 2nd Prize at “7th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia” at Tokyo, Japan.
Apart from being a Soloist, she enjoys playing Chamber Music as well as Piano Duo and receives guidance from Prof. Markus Becker, Prof. Oliver Wille, Johannes Nies and Genova-Dimitrov Piano Duo. Victoria is also playing on historical instruments such as the harpsichord and forte-piano and receives guidance from Prof. Zvi Meniker. In 2019 together with violinist Sebastian Nowak they became as the only Duo one of three Finalist at the International Chamber Music Competition in Triest, Italy.
Victoria had actively participated in several master classes given by Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Prof. Arie Vardi, Prof. Bernd Goetzke, Prof. Dominique Merlet, Prof. Jerome Rose, Prof. Gilead Mishory, Prof. Andreas Weber, Prof. Hansjorg Koch, Prof. Stephan Imorde, Prof. Dr. h.c. Arbo Valdma, Dr. Thomas Hecht, Dr. Steven Spooner, Prof. Zhaniya Aubakirova, Prof. Snezana Panovska, Prof. Hae-Won Chang, Prof. Reiko Kikuchi, Prof. Ichiro Kato, Prof. Ma Cong Andrew, Prof. Chang Hyoung-Joon, Benjamin Loh, Adam Gyorgy.
In 2014 she won the Yamaha Scholarship Competition and got the Scholarship from Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. Since April 2015 she receives scholarship from Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover.
