Unraid 6.12 - New Share configuration
I know all the unraid 6.12 hype is about ZFS, but I'm more hypes about the new share configuration.
While going through the patchnotes and setting this up, I got a bit confused at first, and ran into issues, that I managed to fix.
In this retake, I provide an unscripted side by side comparison of how shares have changed, how to setup shares for the same result on both systems, and how I fixed my issues.
I do believe the new share settings will become very powerful in the future, and expect to see more options (like zfs, or what I forgot to mention in the video: multiple arrays!) in coming updates.
I had to explain (very basic) what shfs is, how it works, and why it can be bad. And how you can verify in 6.12 (but not in 6.11, as far as I know) that it's not used when you don't want it.
This is also the issue I had: It was still being used when I didn't want to, and I show a way around that.
