Real talk about being a remote medical coder. Its so important to know what you are getting into when you take on the position of being a remote coder.
I have gotten this statement many many times about people that are brand new and want to get into medical coding simply to be a remote coder. You have to have experience before you can do this. I have been in this industry for over a decade and never once have I seen a company that allows brand new medical coders to work from home.
It is important when you are starting out to surround yourself with experience. This way you can ask questions or develop a relationship with a mentor. Its always important to ask questions! Lots of them! Always do your research as well.
