Qlik Workshop #3: Loading Data into Qlik Cloud
Welcome back to week three of the Arc Academy weekly workshops! Now that we’ve covered the foundations and environment, it’s time to get hands-on. In this session, we dive into the critical first step of any project: getting your data into Qlik Cloud.
We explore the different methods for importing data, the difference between static uploads and live connections, and how Qlik’s unique associative engine starts working the moment your data lands.
In this workshop, we cover:
✅ Data Loading Methods: How to upload files via the Home page, Catalog, and directly within an app.
✅ Files vs. Connections: When to use static files (Excel/CSV) versus dynamic data connections (SharePoint/APIs).
✅ The Associative Engine: A high-level look at how Qlik connects tables without traditional SQL joins.
✅ Green, White, & Gray: A live demo of Qlik’s proprietary selection model and what the colors tell you about your data.
