What is Periscope? How does it work ?

SOLUTION :
A periscope is an optical device using mirrors or prisms in a tube to see over, around, or through obstacles, working on the principle of light reflection where light bounces off angled mirrors (usually at 45°) down the tube to the observer's eye, common in submarines, tanks, or even simple DIY versions

How it works (Mirrors)

Light Entry: Light from the object hits the top mirror, which is angled at 45 degrees.

First Reflection: Following the law of reflection, the light bounces off the top mirror at the same angle it hit (45 degrees), directing it down the tube.

Second Reflection: The light travels down the tube and strikes the bottom mirror, also angled at 45 degrees.

Image to Eye: This second mirror reflects the light horizontally, directing the image straight to the observer's eye.

Key Components & Principle

Tube: A hollow tube to contain the light path.

Mirrors/Prisms: Two reflective surfaces placed parallel at each end of the tube.

Angle: Mirrors are set at 45° to redirect light 90°.

Physics: Relies on the fundamental law of reflection (angle of incidence equals angle of reflection) to change the light's direction.

Common Uses

Submarines: To see above the water's surface while submerged.

Military/Tanks: To observe enemy positions from safety.

Industrial/Recreational: For inspecting hard-to-reach areas or birdwatching.
