Wesley Snipes has played many memorable roles throughout his acting career. He has played Nino Brown in New Jack City, Syd Deane in White Men Can’t Jump, and Simon Phoenix in Demolition Man. But his most iconic role has to be Blade in The Blade Trilogy movies.
1998’s Blade made Snipes a bonafide action star. And the MCU has recently announced that it will revive the superhero character -- but instead of Snipes reprising his iconic role, they went with Mahershala Ali instead.
It may be some time until we see Marvel’s new Blade reboot, but here’s the real reason why they didn’t cast Wesley Snipes.
