For about a hundred years, Earth has been emitting a large number of structured radio signals into space. Earth's radio noise has long reached dozens of other star systems, including Arcturus, located 37 light-years away, and Aldebaran, which is about 65 light-years away. Furthermore, signals from our planet can be detected on the surface of many potentially habitable exoplanets, such as Ross 128 b and Gliese 667 Cc. However, the Alpha Centauri triple star system remains the Sun's closest stellar neighbor, making it the most obvious candidate for the first interstellar flight.
