Want to create a dynamic drop down menu in Excel?

What if the data is coming from a data table with multiple entries for what you want as your selection options?

Here's a quick walk-through on how to do just that.

Somewhere in your sheet use the UNIQUE formula and apply it to the source list to extract only the unique values wanted for your dropdown.

Now, select the cell you want the dropdown to be in, then go to the Data tab, Data Tools section and click Data Validation.

From here, under Allow you'll choose List and then either enter the cell reference to where you entered your UNIQUE formula and add a # to the end to ensure it includes the whole spill range and hit OK.

It's that simple!
