Mulberry Eating on 11/6/06
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. For those of you following Mulberry's progress from a 2 week old squirrel until now, this is how he looks today. He is much larger and very healthy, but he is exceptionally tiny for his age. We believe this is due to the extreme internal bleeding injuries he had when he was first found... his body needed nutrients to heal as well as to grow, so he is small for his age. He is still growing so it is possible he will get larger, but he is unlikely to be a very big squirrel even as an adult. He should be releasable, though! Check out other Mulberry videos if you would like to see him when he was very small. *Note: Mulberry is indeed a small adult squirrel, but he is very easy to identify at my outdoor feeders now that he has been released! He is doing great in the wild.*
