Either next to the driver, or in a cramped compartment
Me I wander through life across a great country
Kilometers of broken strings behind me
Mirages of unidentified moons ahead
I'm driving, driving, driving, driving
Rivers, steppes, mountains, and fields
I saw in your eyes yesterday
A hot air balloon, a globe in the sky
Getting together with friends, a fleeting romance
Don't throw away my suitcase, Mom
I'll sit for a bit, and then I'll go again
Apparently I'm looking for something, but I can't find it
I'm driving, driving, driving, driving
Rivers, steppes, mountains, and fields
A hot air balloon will show me the way
I'll come to you someday
I don't care about the weather, as long as the engine is in good working order
Look back, sign the death warrant
Time hasn't run out on your golden ones
And I stare through the night through the windshield
I'm driving, driving, driving, driving
Rivers, steppes, mountains, and fields
Give me some cigarettes for the road
So I can compose more Verse
I'm going, going, going, going
Rivers, steppes, mountains, and fields
The stars in the sky will show me the way
I'll come here someday
