In this restoration video, I restored an old Ewbank Success wooden carpet sweeper made in Great Britain.
About the restoration:
This was one of the most challenging wood projects I’ve ever worked on. I learned a great deal about woodworking and metal-bending techniques. Several parts had to be rebuilt from scratch because they were missing or beyond repair.
I discovered this piece online, and the moment I saw it, I knew I could save it and turn it into a great restoration project. I even asked the seller to ship it without the push stick, so it could be sent by post. Luckily, finding a replacement isn’t too hard.
I’m especially glad I managed to restore the original decals, which were barely visible. The entire project took almost two weeks to complete. At the end of the video, you’ll see a test showing this antique wooden carpet sweeper working again!
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll get back to you.
Cheers, Johnny
