The Quick Response (QR) code was invented in 1994 by Masahiro Hara of Denso Wave. Initially, the QR code was designed for tracking automobile parts during the assembly process. The QR code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that can hold a significantly larger amount of data than traditional one-dimensional barcodes.
