What do you need ?
In fact what you need is what you already have:

GoPro Hero 8 or newer such as Hero 9 ( GoPro Max and Hero 7 not supported)
USB-C cable that comes with your GoPro
GoPro Webcam software. (Mac users can download it from official gopro website, Windows users have to download it from facebook page called GoPro Webcam Beta, in the about section.

GoPro webcam software for Windows:

GoPro Webcam for Mac:

I strongly recommend to use some accessories such as GoPro Shorty, Magnetic swivel Clip or The Jaws or any other standard tripod to have a hands free experience.

Make sure that you download the latest software, as of today you need at least a v.2.0 on your Hero 8 black.

Once you have your camera updated just connect it to your computer with USB cable, turn on GoPro Webcam app on your computer , a small white gopro icon should appear in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Now turn on the camera, it should be showing a cable icon on the LCD screen. Once done a small blue dot should appear near the white gopro icon.

From here launch some application such as Skype, Zoom or any other, here is a list of currently supported apps:
YouTube Live - Using Chrome
Zoom - App/Chome
Webex - Using Chrome
Slack - Using Chrome
Google Meet
Microsoft Teams
Skype - Using Chrome
Twitch via OBS
BlueJeans - App
GoTo Meeting
Facebook Rooms - App/Chrome
Discord - Using Chrome
Snap Camera

Once in the programme, you only need to go to your settings and change your camera into a GoPro Webcam camera. After a few seconds it should work, its as easy as that.

If it doesnt work, make sure that you have downloaded the latest GoPro Webcam software, Check if your camera is v.2.0
Restart everything , so disconnect the camera, restart GoPro webcam and start again etc.
change USB port
Change USB- C cable.

Check your camera's USB connection in preferences. Go to Preferences, then to Connections, and check USB Connection , it should be set to Connect.

I hope you guys liked this video, was hard to put it all together im a not a tech guy and recording it was a bit clumsy for me :)
