For our second Sunday expedition into the worlds adjacent to black metal, we leave the foggy Nordic realms to arrive in the humid climes of Istanbul, yet continue the theme of medieval dark-folk and dungeon synth, through the dramatic majesty of Taurwen.
Omnia Mutantur, Nihil Interit (Everything changes, nothing disappears) follows the revitalising path of Nature's cyclic renewal and change; a wistful contemplative air charging the swelling neo-classical motifs and shimmering drones that characterise this magnificent EP, which ends on an ambient reworking of Darkthrone's En Vind Av Sorg, exemplifying the theme of rebirth through altered forms and states.
