Re-shaping this gem opal raises the value by double the cost
I don't do this often, but today I'll cut a $25K gem entirely by hand and hope I don't watch it fly across the entire workshop!
Hand cutting is a tricky skill for a cutter to master; slippery opals and wet fingers can be a bit of a dangerous combination.
