Record audio with Voice Memos

1. Press Space-Command and launch Voice Memos
2. Click the record button and start recording
3. When you’re finished, click the pause button and then click Done
4. By pressing Edit, you can trim the audio and delete specific section
5. Drag and drop your recording to the desktop to save it

Audio recordings may fill up your storage quickly.

Record audio with QuickTime Player

1. Launch QuickTime Player
2. Click File in the menu bar – New Audio Recording
3. Click the red record button and start recording
4. When you're finished click the stop button
5. To export the recording, click File – Export as – Audio only

Record audio using GarageBand

1. Go to Settings – Privacy & Security – Microphone and enable access to GarageBand
2. In the GarageBand, click New Project and select Empty Project template
3. Then click Choose and select Mic or Line track type
4. Click Details and make sure it specifies your Mac’s microphone in “My instrument is connected with my MacBook Pro microphone”
5. Make sure your Mac is selected as the input device in GarageBand Settings – Audio/MIDI – Input Device
6. Finally, click Create and click Record and speak
