Lifting weights improves your brain processing speed and memory.
In this recent 2023 study, the researchers found that students have much better learning ability right after performing a full-body workout [1].
This could be because you are more alert right after a training session. But lifting weights also helps you get out of your head. A training session gives you a nice mental break before having to study or work again.
I personally like to train early morning or in the middle of the day during lunchtime for this reason. I notice a benefit from that increased “post-workout focus.”
The only exception is trying to work after a heavy leg day. That can fry you a bit physically and mentally lol!
