This shows you how to use attract mode and squirrel plugins to dynamically change both the display (theme) and the game list on the fly. This is part of a series which ties into facial recognition to allow this to be done dynamically! The series is listed below..

This video is a complete end to end demo and tutorial for how to take an arcade setup based on Attract Mode to the next level by using dynamic display switching. The idea is simple...what if the theme and the game list on your arcade setup was actually smart enough to change based on who was playing, or what type of controller you held? What if it could use facial recognition to choose game lists? What if the person standing at the machine actually determined what was shown? And if the game list and theme on the arcade machine could change..what about the artwork in the game room!? And eventually, the music and lights using home automation? Could we eventually tell Alexa to bring us to 1985 and have the games, music, theme, and artwork all show with just that year?

These aren't just ideas or concepts. This is possible, and this video is the first step to explaining how to get it setup by showing some deeper looks into attract mode to understand how to manipulate the custom inputs with squirrel files and creating this. The beauty of the approach I detail here is you don't have to code..but if you want to, I show you an entry point in the squirrel file to manipulate stuff well beyond attract mode by enabling you to run custom commands.

This is part of a (loose) series I'm working on...the Huskylens tutorial before this shows how to hook facial recognition up to an Arduino, and by combining that with a leonardo...you can connect the dots of how I got this all working. But if not, an upcoming video will go into that as well :)
