Make a refillable hardcover notepad case
In this beginner-friendly bookbinding tutorial, I’m turning the simple tear-off notepad from my previous video into a refillable hardcover case. This practical DIY stationery project protects the pages, adds stability while writing, and allows you to replace the paper pad once it’s used up. And it makes a pretty gift, too ;-).

Materials & tools (for a 50-sheet (so about 0.8 cm thick), 8 x 15 cm notepad):
2 mm cardboard, 10 x 17 cm (2x)
2 mm cardboard, 0.8 x 17 cm (1x)
decorative paper, 11.5 x 20 xm (2x)
cardstock for the endpaper, 16.5 x 21 cm (1x)
cardstock for the notepad pocket, 10.4 x 17 cm (1x)
cardstock for the optional little pocket, 9.5 x 18 cm (1x)
book cloth, 3.3 x 20 cm (1x)
the notepad itself (see above)
elastic band: 23 cm (1x) and 2 eylets
OR two ribbons of about 20 cm each
glue and a brush
hole punch / eylet setter
metal ruler
blade
pencil
bone folder
some tool to score paper
a tool to draw a circle (or a plate / large bowl)
scissors
double sided tape, 0.5 cm wide
Finished hardcover case size: about 10 x 17 x 1 cm.
