How to MASTER your Track in 2 mins (Reason Studios)
Today, let me show you my mastering process using reason studio.
My First step is importing a reference track into the sequencer then I want to align the loudest section of the reference track with the loudest part of my track
The loudest part is usually where I have the most elements.
Using the selig gain rack extension I am reducing the volume on the master channel to avoid any peak.
After that I am loading an instance of the the free VST SPAN from Voxengo,
I m underlying my reference track to be able adjust the frequencies through the spectrum.
From there, I can start adjusting my frequencies using my first equalizer in the master chain.
Then I am using a mid frequency Equalizer, which is the secret weapon for vocal, guitar, snare and all the other midrange instruments
I am doing A/B with my reference track to do some adjustment if needed.
Finally I am using the free vst youlean loudness meter 2 to monitor the loudness of my track.
Then I will adjust the threshold of my Maximizer (which is a limiter) to reach a LUFS of around -8 wich usually is a good number for me.
