Roulette and atomic bombs: THE MONTE CARLO METHOD
At the Los Alamos laboratory, the Manhattan Project, led by Robert Oppenheimer, produced many more results than the atomic bomb and the hydrogen bomb, and certainly not as destructive. One of the most valuable was the so-called Monte Carlo Method, devised by two of the greatest mathematicians in history: John Von Neumann and Stanislaw Ulam.
