Want to combine multiple layers in your Figma design? This tutorial shows you how to merge, group, and flatten layers for a more organized and efficient workflow.

Open your Figma file and select the layers you want to merge, either on the canvas or in the Layers panel.
Hold Shift and click to select multiple layers.
To combine them into a group, press Ctrl + G (Windows) or Cmd + G (Mac). This keeps your selected layers together for easy movement and editing.
If you’re working with shapes, use Boolean operations from the top toolbar: Union, Subtract, Intersect, or Exclude to merge shapes in creative ways.
For a single editable layer, select your grouped or combined shapes and press Ctrl + E or Cmd + E to flatten them.
Your layers are now merged, either as a group for organization or as a single shape for editing.

Merging layers in Figma is perfect for simplifying your workspace, creating complex shapes, and keeping your designs tidy.
