Creating your own Altcoin Part 1: Setting up and Testing your Development Environment
Update as of October 2023: Ubuntu 16 reached its EOL a few years ago and the dependency packages might not work anymore. Therefore if you want to follow this tutorial as is you should use the exported VM .ova file in the link below. The environment should be correct to follow the whole tutorial up until video 6. Despite all of the angry emails dropbox has sent to me the link still seems to work. If you're brave enough though you can try to get all of the dependencies squared away on a newer version of Ubuntu, though I imagine it will be much easier to use the .ova file.
The first of six videos that details the process of creating your own cryptocurrency from the source code of Litecoin v0.8.7.5. If you can't get through this video, go no further.
