Gigafactory Texas on 12 June 2023! This is where Model Y’s are built and soon Cyber Truck production will start!

Early morning flight, but not dark enough to get good images inside, so instead, we get to see some interesting developments around the main factory, including a new display of the full line of Tesla cars, the Cybertruck graffiti trailer and a mobile supercharger! It looks like this was either recently used for a presentation or is getting ready for another presentation sometime this week.

Some of the significant highlights from today's drone flight include:

The south end footing construction is expanding further to the west on the south side near the white-painted concrete walls, These footings are connected by tie-in concrete and the last time we say these kinds of footings, they supported high load columns which supported bridge cranes, so we may be seeing this again, just to the south of the stamping 2 section, which also has bridge cranes on the other side of the wall.

There are three major conduit installation sites today that are notable, including the final connections of the conduits that support the Die Shop and Battery Cathode structures. This final connection is being made to a large green electrical junction box just north of Tesla Road and under the power lines. On the northeast corner of the casting machine structure, we see crews working to install conduit along the widened berm area and into two large concrete vaults. These connect to the north under Tesla Road and to the Megapack and new Electrical Switchyard. Finally, we see the conduit that connects the Megapack site to the south end of the switchyard nearly completed as well.

At the Megapack site, crews are busy installing the first steel vertical components on the screw-type piers on the north end. This is where the above ground main connections to the electrical switchyard will be made, and I expect to see several shorter steel poles installed in this area as well to support high-tension electrical cables.

On the south end of the switchyard, crews are installing a lot of rebar into the large excavation near the temporary retaining wall. The rebar shows the slab will be thick, and there will be walls around the perimeter, suggesting this may be a large underground vault structure.

On the northeast corner of casting, just as I was ending my drone flight today, a semi-truck arrived with steel mesh and long rebar, presumably for the interior ground slab reconfiguration work we can see through the three east receiving doors. If this is correct, the crews may be nearing the construction portion of this re-work and concrete pours will commence soon.

On the west side of the building, NawKaw company crews continue to apply the white stain to the exterior concrete walls and are now at the 4680-production section of the main factory. At the pace they are moving, the white stain will reach the angled northwest corner of the building and begin to wrap around to the north side in the next few days.
