Users will first connect their compatible camera via USB to computer. Next, users will enable Live View mode – this will stream a real time preview of what the camera sees to the computer. It is in this step the object will be placed in the cameras field of view.
Additional image composition features in Live View mode include manually adjusting and setting a focal point, users can also choose to shoot in Auto Focus mode.
Pre-Crop – Users can pre-define a frame around the object they are shooting. This can be defined in free form, a perfect square or a custom ratio (such as 4 x 3).
And camera setting adjustments – including Shutter Speed, Aperture, White Balance and ISO. Users will want to adjust camera settings to optimize exposure for their lighting environment.
Now we are ready to capture an image – simply click the snap button and the image will be captured an uploaded to the program within seconds. To capture our next image, we simply re-enable the live view, as you can see the crop marker from our previous shot is retained, adjust our object and click snap. This will be our standard shooting workflow – Live View, place object or adjust shooting angle then snap. The large real time preview and ability to instantly review images after capture make Shutter Stream an ideal tool for users of any skill level. In addition, by combining image composition, capture, editing, processing and output tools into a single, stand-alone application, Shutter Stream is a sure way to enhance studio photography workflow efficiencies.
After we have captured the required angles, we will want to capture one more image of just the background. This will be used as a reference image to automate background extraction from all our previously shot images. We simply import this background only image into the BR tool and make it the reference image. We can use moving forward for all images captured moving forward provided we retain consistent lighting, camera settings and crop position.
Next lets import our 6 product images into the editing tool and auto extract the grey background and replace with pure white. The area highlighted by black are the pixels that will be replaced by white. By hitting apply to all, we can successfully replace the background with pure white. Now allow us to inspect all images to ensure the background removal tool correctly extracted the backgrounds from all frames. By viewing at 100%, you can see how well the automated background removal tool works - even for tough objects like hair.
Our last step will be to output these images, we will use the batch saving tool to bath resize, rename and output our images to our desired local or network folder.
