Tech Note 047 - DS18B20 High Quality Water Proof Sensor
Using sensors in an external environment is difficult, but a supplier (www.dfrobot.com) makes and supplies exceptional high quality units which I have obtained. Clearly built for all weathers the DS18B20 sensor is housed in a stainless steel encapsulation and the whole assembly can be ready to use in minutes, perfect. You can have multiple DS18B20 devices on the same bus and by reading their address determine temperature by location.
