My first time drawing with gold leaf ✨

This is a short drawing video of the sketch, I love to sketch and experiment and this was my first time working with gold leaf! Gold leaf is incredibly thin and delicate so I really had to get used to it but trying new things is part of experimenting as an artist and I hope to use it in future artworks. I didn´t want to try it in a project that I worked on for hours so I wanted to try it in a quick sketch.

Paper: Strathmore Toned Tan Mixed Media
Pencils: Faber castell
Colors: white, blue, brown
White gellpen
Kneaded eraser
Golden acrylics
Gold leaf
The meaning behind the artwork:
The woman portrayed in the sketch is mysterious and her hair is flowing in the center. My intention was to have a balance between emotions and a sense of fierceness. I wanted to express that she’s been through a lot but it gave her more strength.
The blue diamond in this sketch signifies calmness and wisdom. The moon is made of golden acrylics, gold for me symbolizes something that is really valuable. And what is valuable for the woman in the sketch is the wisdom she gained after experiencing hardship, so the tears turned into gold: The difficult times turned into wisdom.
