Motors are devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. We can easily find a motor in a fan, dishwasher, or even a washing machine. While using motors for such household purposes you would want them to be cost-efficient and easy to use. This is where a single-phase induction motor comes in the picture.
Single-phase induction motors consist essentially of a stationary part - stator and a moving part - rotor. It is connected with two windings, namely main winding and auxiliary winding. The main winding and auxiliary winding together provide the magnetic field, when given an AC current for the movement of the rotor.
