As is well known, the largest ships in the history of the galaxy were in service with the Imperial Navy. And despite the defeat at Endor and the outbreak of the Imperial Civil War, the Super Star Destroyers in the hands of Imperial commanders posed a huge threat to the fleet of the young New Republic, which took advantage of the fact that the Imperials were interested in fighting each other rather than uniting against a common enemy. Eventually, by 17 ABY, when the Yevetha War ended, the Almanian Rebellion had been crushed, and the New Republic had regained the strategic initiative, with its Defense Fleet representing a significant force.
Today's video is dedicated to the New Republic's most gigantic ship – the Viscount-class Star Defender, which became the New Republic's answer to the Imperial Super Destroyers.
