Last month, I was invited to a very special event in San Francisco hosted by EA and Microsoft for the upcoming beta for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 -- which will take place on January 14th to the 18th on PS4 and Xbox One (No PC beta, unfortunately). I was a big admirer of the first game, and after several hours of playing with the developers and other journalists, I can easily say that this entry takes things even further than you'd expect. With more than double the amount of characters to choose from on both Plant and Zombie factions, in addition to a brand new quest system and PvE content, the public beta aims to give players a taste of what they can experience in PVZ:GW2.
Originally released as a DLC pack for the first game, Suburbination is now a standard gametype in PVZ:GW2. Basically, players on the Plant and Zombie factions have to capture enough areas of control to score points. We played the most out of this gameplay mode, and I totally adored it. You're basically watching my best match during the event.
During the match, I played as the Vampire Flower, a totally kickass variant of the Sunflower. As the name implies, damage done to enemies will be converted back to health in small portions. She was easily the most popular Plant character during the event, and after watching this, I'm sure you'll see why.
